Shock of the Day: Blake Lively Doesn’t Think Her ‘Gossip Girl’ Work is Her Best

Now that Gossip Girl is officially going to end, it’s fine to talk about how it wasn’t the best thing you’ve ever done, eh Blake Lively? Blake has spoken on how the show which launched her career gave her the great opportunity she needed to star in many other films, but she doesn’t think it has been her stand-out moment as an actress and she thinks the best is yet to come so she’s looking to the future:

“I think the best way to describe it is like someone who really enjoyed high school, and is like, I’m a senior and I can’t wait for the next thing! Gossip Girl was so great, but what’s the next challenge in life? Because, you know, six years is a long time. And as an actor who plays a caricature of myself on the show, I don’t think I’d say, Watch Gossip Girl for my best quality of work. But I am very lucky to have had that experience.”

Shocked? At least she is honest about it. Blake says she isn’t out to win the approval of others and is only setting out to please herself, although she obviously has to try and impress the director if she wants whatever she’s working on to pay off right? Anyway, she says she isn’t about to suck up to anyone:

“I’m not in the business of trying to win the approval of my cast members, my director, or my audience, if I were, I’d be so beaten down by insecurity that I’d never be able to perform. The only person I’m trying to prove something to is myself.”

Blake Lively Is Ready For ‘Bittersweet’ ‘Gossip Girl’ Ending

After six seasons of running the Upper East Side, Blake Lively is looking forward to the next chapter in life, which will follow the finale of her hit CW series “Gossip Girl.”

The blonde bombshell recently spoke with Bullett magazine about the closing of her five year on the hit drama saying, “It’ll be bittersweet when it’s over, because it gave me all of this,” adding, “I think the best way to describe it is like someone who really enjoyed high school, and is like, I’m a senior and I can’t wait for the next thing!”

Even though the 24-year-old says the opportunity to work on the show was “great” she doesn’t consider her Manhattan socialite character Serena van der Woodsen her best work explaining, “As an actor who plays a caricature of myself on the show, I don’t think I’d say, watch ‘Gossip Girl’ for my best quality of work. But I am very lucky to have had that experience.”

While talking about her acting future, the “Green Lantern” babe also admitted that she isn’t looking to please everyone in the business adding, “I’m not in the business of trying to win the approval of my cast members, my director or my audience. If I were, I’d be so beaten down by insecurity that I’d never be able to perform. The only person I’m trying to prove something to is myself.”

So what’s next for Miss Lively? Besides starting production for the final season of “GG” in the summer, you can also catch her on the big screen as she stars in Oliver Stone’s flick “Savages” for the role of Ophelia along with “Hick” co-starring Chloe Moretz.

Blake Lively flashes the flesh in stunning new magazine shoot

It has been five years since she shot to fame as socialite Serena van der Woodsen in teen TV hit Gossip Girl.
So it’s not surprising that, after a number of recent film roles, Blake Lively is ‘ready to move on’ from her fashionista alter-ego.
The star discusses leaving the show that made her name in a new interview with Bullett Magazine, posing for a series of sultry accompanying photos

One stunning photograph shows the star flashing the flesh in a white dress with a thigh high slit and striking metal belt, while another features the star in low cut red Lanvin.
Blake’s long blonde hair is teased into a tousled beachy style, with subtle make-up showing off her  flawless skin.
The actress will film the final and last season of Gossip Girl this year with the final episode to be aired on U.S. network The CW sometime next year.

‘I think the best way to describe it is like someone who really enjoyed high school, and is like, I’m a senior and I can’t wait for the next thing!’ she tells themagazine of the eventual season finale.

‘I’m ready to move on with my life, and I can’t do that with Gossip Girl tracking my every move.’
Along with Ben Affleck movie The Town in 2010, the 24-year-old actress also starred in dramatic film Hick and Green Lantern opposite Ryan Reynolds, who she is now dating.
She plays Ophelia in the forthcoming Savages, a crime drama which sees her character kidnapped by members of a Mexican drug cartel.
And she found working with the movie’s director Oliver Stone a particularly unique experience.
‘Oliver is by no means a cheerleader,’ she says. ‘His movies very much reflect the strong, aggressive powerhouse that he is, so he’s not cooing at you along the way.’

‘It was challenging because you want to feel like you can do no wrong, especially with your director, but that definitely wasn’t the case here,’ she recalls. ‘It’s not a good thing or a bad thing – it’s just the way he works.’
The star, who is reported to have purchased a new home with actor Reynolds in New York state, also tells the magazine she is ‘slow to build friendships.’
She adds: ‘They always end up being long and lasting. The way that I meet people is the same way that I’ve always met people. It might be weird if I was on JDate, but I’m not, so that’s good.
‘I meet so many people in passing at parties, but I’ve never been a person who’s like, I know I just met you, but let’s exchange numbers and be best friends.’
