Mila Kunis defended Justin Timberlake at a press conference for their newest film Friends With Benefits recently. It’s no shock that she stuck up for him in the face of criticism from a reporter, but it was surprising that she did it in Russian.
According to E!, a reporter asked Justin Timberlake why he is working on movies now rather than focusing on music. Before he got a chance to answer, Mila quickly responded with, “Why movies? Why not? What kind of question is that? Why are you here?” She spoke in fluent Russian while Timberlake watched with a dumbfounded look on his face. He later joked that Mila is his “bodyguard.”
Mila speaks Russian because she was born in the Ukrainian SSR and lived there until she was 7. She only learned English when she moved to the U.S. and enrolled in the 2nd grade.
